Financial Controller - Ranching and Beef Operations

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning to ensure smooth operations across multiple revenue streams.

• Develop and maintain monthly financial reports and KPI dashboards for ownership.

• Conduct cost accounting and expense analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and profitability.

• Review, approve, and monitor expenses to ensure proper coding, accountability, and budget adherence.

• Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Build processes and controls to support scaling operations while keeping systems efficient and lean.

• Collaborate with ranch management, beef operations, and leadership to ensure financial data aligns with operational performance.

• Support long-term strategic planning, capital investment analysis, and business expansion initiatives.

Who You Are

• Experienced accountant or financial manager with strong general ledger and operational accounting background.

• Comfortable managing accounting for a multi-division business (agriculture, product sales, property, etc.).

• Proficient with QuickBooks (Desktop + Online), Excel, and general financial modeling.

• Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communicator who can work with a range of people — from ownership to operations.

• Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.

• A practical thinker who can see the big picture but doesn’t shy away from small, hands-on tasks.
